Our Southern Sweet Tea is a smooth, black tea, just like grandma's. Although the tea isn't presweetened, here's the recipe to make authentic sweet tea. To make a pitcher (1/2 gallon) of sweet tea, add 1/4 cup tea leaves to 4 cups very hot water and 1 cup sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Let tea leaves steep for 7-10 minutes. Strain out tea leaves and add 4 cups cold water. Pour over ice and enjoy. Refrigerate for up to 1 week. To make a gallon, use 1/2 cup loose tea and 2 cups sugar. To make a single glass, steep 1 tsp. tea with 8 oz. water and sweeten to taste. 4 oz. bag makes 50 8 oz. cups.
